Senior Partner

Rod Robertson joined Bench Capital Advisory in 2018, bringing his wealth of experience and extensive global network to our M&A Advisory practice.

Rod has focused on maximizing value for sellers through a variety of innovative exit strategies around the globe. The huge amount of capital that private equity firms have amassed for acquisitions in the low- to mid-markets has totally changed the dynamics of selling a business and paved the way for sellers to receive windfall profits for their firms. Rod enjoys positioning sellers to receive top dollar for their companies in a creative fashion that often goes well beyond the seller’s expectations. He has advised as a banker and acted as a principal in starting, growing and selling firms in eleven countries.

Rod brings over 20 years of transaction experience and entrepreneurial accomplishments to Bench Capital. During his career, Rod has served as the President and CEO of distribution, real estate, consumer products and software companies. Over the past fifteen years, he has successfully represented in more than 70 transactions where owners were seeking to sell or recapitalize their business, raise equity or divest subsidiaries.

As a former owner of a business he took out of receivership, repositioned, grew and then sold after four years, Rod truly understands the peaks and valleys of business ownership like few other intermediaries. He enjoys motivational speaking at home and abroad and has traveled to more than fifty countries, collecting an eclectic range of military antiques. He published his well-received book, Winning at Entrepreneurship and recently co-authored a new book entitled The Human Vector with Oleg Kondrashov. Rod also has been a highly regarded guest speaker at the Harvard Business School and Babson MBA program, among a host of other speaking engagements domestically and abroad. He is a well-quoted media source nationwide and a regular guest appearing on radio and TV to discuss a wide range of subjects.
